A walk down to the Near North branch of the Chicago Public Library....where we finally became members (after 3 years). Better late than never.

My first books borrowed from the library.
We discovered the Division Street Farmers Market -- bough cheese, mushrooms and garlic dip.
Lunch at Declan's pub where our very friendly Irish (from Donegal) waitress convinced the chef to give us their Curry Chicken Salad recipe. Score.
Rambling down Wells Street through Old town..... stops at Pier1, The Spice Merchant and Up Down Cigar were a must.

Dinner at a neighborhood restaurant we have never tried before: Aquitaine. The food was delicious, the wine conversation-sparking, and the company impeccable.
My dinner: Rainbow Trout with Haricot Verts and Tomato Jam
Our company for the evening: Joel & Tess
An encouraging Sunday morning sermon
For dinner: Sausage & Pepper Pizza from a newly purchased cookbook (Cook Once, Eat Twice)
It's been a really nice, quiet Sunday of laundry, reading and preparing for the week ahead. Looking forward to our trip to Charleston at the end of the month for a friend's wedding; my birthday trip to New York; and possibly a camping trip to Wisconsin in early September. Can't believe how fast the summer is flying by! Trying to soak it up and make it good while it lasts.
*Nota bene: Unfortunately, I can't take credit for any of these photos. Maybe next time.

Hi there ~ Just finished cleaning up after Sunday dinner. I took some pictures, but I'm not sure I can pull together a post.
ReplyDeleteLoved following along on your walk! Who was trippingi the shutter?
That's kinda why I've just been doing the snapshots -- a little too brain dead to put together the words. :/ But I'd love to see your photos, too!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, none of these photos are mine. I was not as pulled together as all that. These are just images from around the web. I'll try to do better on consequent posts about taking my own photos :)
